Chunk of Windows desktop appears in coherence mode

Anyone else have this problem? In coherence mode, a big chunk of the Windows desktop appears on my screen. DSometimes it's large enough to be quite irritating, but it's not any kind of showstopper.

This behavior is not supposed to happen. I would suggest to check the video settings. i.e. set video memory higher, set display resolution the same on Mac and Windows side.

Also, the screenshot would be greatly appreciated.
 
Here is the screen shot. Note the chunk of windows desktop even though I am in coerence mode. what is causing this?

Do you have any kind of software installed either on Mac of Windows side, like mprojector http://www.screentime.com/software/mprojector/ that might be causing this effect?

In any case, this seems like the only possible reason at the moment (some kind of application messing things up) and a proper investigation is needed. I would suggest to create a support ticket for this matter http://www.parallels.com/support/request/ so that we will be able to investigate this directly on your machine. This screenshot would greatly help to speed up the process.

workaround

Hi,

as workaround i can do the following:

when i start the Vista VM I always have this Vista-desktop chunk on my mac-desktop. the screen resolution of vista is then set to 1280x768. when i change it to 1280x800 (screen res. of my macbook pro) the desktop chunk is gone.

but, need to do that after every Vista boot.

hope that leads to the solution.

I have the same issue. I am running Parallels v4 on a Macbook Pro w/4gig of ram. Hooked up to a 24 apple led display. cannot get rid of the chunk of windows desktop in coherence mode. Oddily enough, I can actually drag and drop items in that desktop chunk.

I have the same issue on my machine. I am running Parallels v4 on a new Macbook Pro w/4gigs of ram, and a 24" LED Apple Cinema display.
