Cisco VPN in Mac ... no internet Parallels

The Mac is connected successfully via VPN to company LAN. When connecting to network apps on parallels it fails with lack of network connectivity. The machine is running Parallels 5. Should this be in bridged mode. I am trying to help a client who is at home.... so I don't have my hands on it.
 
I think it should be shared networking. Bridged won't go through Snow Leopard's Cisco VPN client. The same is probably true with the client from Cisco.
