Hi there,
I am using ClamXav Sentry cause I buyed Parallels Desktop 6 now and I want my Mac safe for viruses and I didn't want to pay for Kaspersky or anything else.
But I've got a problem.
ClamXav works just fine and I nearly don't even realize that it is there. But when I start Parallels Desktop 6 and my Win XP Professional Bootcamp virtual machine comes up to life and I'm using it for a short time then suddenly the problems came up.
My Mac is getting EXTREMELY slow. So I took a look at the activity details on my Mac (German "Aktivitätsanzeige"). And there I see where the problem is: The problem is ClamXav which is working and working and working when I used (and already shut down) my Parallels virtual machine... (% CPU is usually somewhere around 70-100).
Both softwares are totally up to date.
What can I do?
As mentioned above I don't want to use a virus scanner which I would have to pay for. I don't use Windows that much.
In my Windows system I am using Antivir too.
Would that be even enough so that I can even delete ClamXav perhaps?
Thanks!
Gordon
