Cmd-Q when using OS X Application Switcher closes Parallels

I often use the OS X application switcher (Cmd-Tab) to switch and quit applications. I can Cmd-Tab to another application's icon and can typically Cmd-Q quit that application without leaving the application switcher. When in Parallels, this causes Parallels to shut down also.

The Cmd-Q key should not be sent to Parallels when I'm quitting another application from the application switcher.
