Command Q and Command W no longer work reliably under P6

Since installing Parallels 6 I have found that Command + Q and Command + W no longer work reliably when the focus is the Parallels application window--as opposed to the focus being on the Virtual Machine being run (This difference is crucial). Also, sometimes the red button at the upper left of the Parallels application window works to close the window (and suspend my VM, as I prefer). About half the time the only way to close the Parallels program is to go to the Parallels menu and click on the Parallels Desktop > Quit Parallels Desktop or if I just want to close the window, click on File > Close Window. Sometimes pressing Command + Q will bring up the VM's (Windows XP's) selection box to Standby, Turn Off, or Restart. Other times nothing will happen.

I want to emphasize that these phenomena do not seem to be about the virtual machine being run; they have to do with manipulating the state of the Parallels Desktop program itself; i.e., focus is on the Parallels Application Window, not something in the VM. I have noticed this mostly when running Windows XP as my VM, but have noticed Command +W failing to do anything on two occasions only under Linux 10.0.4.

Sometimes I can be in another Mac application altogether, and Parallels will still be intercepting key presses.

When is this going to get fixed?? I just upgraded and was horrified to find this problem (which worked fine under version 5), and this bug languishing for almost six months!!

It will be fixed in next PD6 update.

This just started happening to me when I allowed Parallels Desktop 6 to update to Build 11994.....along with some other new glitches that didn't exist before (and which I posted about yesterday in these forums).

Not happy....this software appears to be going backwards. Very unhappy I let it update....and since I have a MacBook Air, it's a pain to go back and reinstall the old version using optical drive sharing.

Sigh.
