Compressor and Desktop for Mac

So, I am confused about whether or not these two products work with one another. The website says they do, but the installation guide says no, which is it? Also, if they do work, I get the feeling that the compressor will have to be on the XP volume under os x, and not directly in OS X, correct?

Of course bundled Compressor could be used only in Parallels Desktop for Mac. To compress VPC or VMware you should buy standalone version (Compressor Workstation or Compressor Server).
