Configuration of Parallels question

I'm also assuming that the virtual machine would still have internet access and the ability to upload/download via the USB or Thunderbolt ports? Also, I've been reading the Getting Started with Parallels 11 document and was wondering if the Parallels Transporter Agent actually transfers over all of my Windows programs/applications from my Windows laptop or does it just transfer data, documents, etc. Thank you again for your assistance.

Isolating the Windows from Mac will not affect the internet connection on the Windows and you could connect your USB and other devices without issues.
The Parallels Transporter agent is a tool used to transfer your Windows Operating system from a dedicated Windows machine to the Mac as a Virtual Machine(file with .pvm extension). This means that this tool will transfer all of your Windows Operating System files, applications and user created files. You could also choose not to migrate user created files during the transfer process.

Try this steps for mouse synchronization issue in Windows virtual machine and let us know how it goes?

Under the keyboard & mouse settings I had the mouse set to "don't optimize" already but I switched it to "auto detect for games". The issue I was having was actually related to the track pad but it seems to be working fine at the moment. Since we are having a productive dialog I have a couple of other setup questions. I have the settings configured to map volumes, basically I want to see my NAS on the windows side, and when I open explorer my NAS is not showing up under Network, the message is saying that Network discovery is turned off. If I set the configuration to map the drives from OS X do I still need to turn Network Discovery on in the Windows VM. Also, when I was poking around in the network sharing center I noticed that it indicates the network connection as Public and Ethernet when it should read Private and my MacbookPro laptop is connected wirelessly. Is there a way to create a private network or is this just displaying the settings that way because it is a VM? Thank you,

Hi StephenC3,

Yes, you are right ! Parallels VM does not display WiFi icon due to limitations of virtualization. However guest OS will be connected to same network where your Mac has been connected.
The reason for your NAS drive not being connected to Windows is probably because Windows virtual machine is not running in appropriate network type. Check this link & let us know how it goes.
