Configuration problem cannot access Parallels Desktop

I have installed both Parallels and Windows 10 however when I start either, it goes straight to building the Windows desktop. Once the desktop is build, I cannot access the Parallels Desktop to make changes in virtual memory allocation. I think I selected a set up option during Windows 10 installation that created this condition as I have not the problem on my other MAC with Parallels. Any suggestions for how to correct this?
