"Configuring Windows 10" message @ every startup

I get this message every time the VM starts. Running latest Parallels on Big Sur, v. 11.2.3. In the window is a horizontal thermometer bar, with "Preparing to configure the virtual machine underneath. Does not save the previous VM window size, but reverts to the small nearly illegible window requiring re-inputting the display settings. After the thermometer is about a third of the way across, the VM starts normally except as above.
Any help is much appreciated.
