Control center not visible

For some strange reason the "Control center" never gets displayed.

I can start VMs by right clicking on the taskbar icon only.

Is there some way to reset the dimensions of the control center?

Resolved. The control center was on another attached display. Had to detach HDMI cable, reboot MBP. At login prompt attach the cable again and login. Windows all on external display.
