I have a Windows VHD file created with Hyper-V. I would like to convert this file to a Parallels 9 hard disk file and try and boot it. Is this possible? I cannot install the transfer agent because the Windows server running Hyper-V is not available.

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere but I find it impossible to search for this topic in this forum because "vhd" is too short to be included in the search and I get results that include everything under the sun.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mculver,
With Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac you can use Windows that you set up using earlier versions of Parallels Desktop, as well as VMware Fusion, Microsoft Virtual PC, and Virtualbox, however VHD is not compatible to convert to Parallels Virtual Machine.
Here is the supported formats to convert:
    • Parallels Desktop data files end with .pvm.
    • VMware files end with .vmx.
    • Virtual PC files end with .vmc.
    • VirtualBox files end with .xml or .vbox.
