One of the big reasons I use Parallels is to build and test OS-X servers but I haven't done it since version 5.

I just finished working about a week on a new server and was about to convert the .hdd to dmg as detailed here:

    http://kb.parallels.com/en/5711

so I could deploy the new server online.

I was very disappointed to find that the Parallels Image Tool was no longer in my Applications folder. So I uninstalled 6 and retro'd to version 5. But the Parallels Image Tool won't open the version 6 pvm.

Does anyone have a work around for this?

Convert the .hdd to plain format by deselecting Expanding Disk in Virtual Machine -> Configure... -> Hardware -> Hard Disk # -> Edit...

Then you can change the extension in the .hdd package from .hds to .dmg or .img.

Thank you! Had seen that option before but didn't pursue it because it was greyed out. (VM was running)

    That worked.
