I have just upgraded to AppServer 9.0 and I see that the published applications are no longer stored in the registry as was the case in version 6. I have just published all the apps manually, but I have to rebuild my backup server and I am not going to do it again. How can I copy all the published applications from my production server to a backup server? Many thanks. James
Hi there, I assume you refer to the 2xApplicationServer-BackupServer. All settings done in the 2xServer will be automatically pushed to the backup server, so there is no need to copy the applications manually. Perhaps we understand you wrong? Kind regards,
I don't have it installed in that way as our primary server and backup server are in different locations and don't know about the existence of each other. I have 2X Application Server installed on my primary server and again on my backup server. We have alway had it like this but have never had to the need for our backup server so far (touch wood). In the previous version, all published apps were in the registry under HKLM\Software\2X\2XManagmentConsol\Publishing. All I used to do was export this key and import into my backup server. James
Found it. It is now all stored in the consol.xml file, just a case of copying the tag <Publishing> .... </Publishing>
hi James, Please contact 2x support as you might be breaching the license agreement, you need 2 different licenses for your setup. Anyways the best way to go for your query was simply to export the settings (menu file export) and then import the settings on the other server (menu file import)
Thanks for the concern on licenses, but we have two seperate licenses, which is why I have it setup this way. James
