could not copy from Win8.1 to Mac

Bit poster
1. PD9 (9.0.24251) on OS X Yosemite 10.10 running Windows 8.1
2. can copy from Mac to Windows
3. but cannot copy from Windows to Mac, will display error message (see attached).
4. previously could do so in Mavericks.

the error message is
The items on the clipboard cannot be pasted to this location
One or more of the items may have been deleted or are no longer available
