Hello,
I have Parallels Desktop for Mac 6 installed on a MacBook pro with the following specifications:
1. 3.06 Ghz Core II Duo
2. 8 GB RAM
3. 240 GB SSD (internal)
4. 500 GB H HD (internal)
I have a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit VM setup on the SSD and have allocated 1 of the 2 cores and 4 GB of RAM. Also, Optimization is set for Faster Virtual Machine and Enable Adaptive Hypervisor and Tune Windows for Speed are both
checked. The prl_vm_app continuously hogs all of the CPU resources for the core. Windows takes about 5 minutes to
startup and is extremely sluggish once it does. The CPU utilization never decreases.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Parallels as well as the VM. I have tried assigning both cores to the VM, but this causes both cores to run between 95% and 100%.
Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve the CPU issue with the VM?
Thanks.
