Got a crash loop of a background Parallels process on the general tab of the configuration of a VM (sent in about 12 reports to Parallels, one being # 404351104). prl_disk_tool is what is in a crash loop, you don't have to do anything in the general tab it will just keep crashing. Also weird is the menu bar gets stuck on the name of the VM I right clicked and open the config for (have to restart Parallels to get it back to normal). Version 18.0.0 (53049) is what I got Anyone else see this crash with todays Parallels update?
Hello @CharlieS4, Could you please provide us the screenshot of prl_disk_tool error and the mac menu bar which gets stuck with VM name along with the technical report ID as mentioned in this link to assist you further? Thanks.
The Mac menubar does not get stuck at all, just opening Parallels 18 (17.x did not have this crash) will cause 1 or more prl_disk_tool crashes (both macOS and Parallels crash reports are sent) 405424506 is the most recent one (manually done about 1 second after the crash) 405424544 from Parallels auto grab after the crash (that one has a strange delay on it about 2 minutes after macOS crash report)
I, too, have this issue, and have given up sending in the technical reports (as it does grab a LOT of sensitive information about my overall system) -- but, it happens every single time any VM launches on macOS 12. In my case, nothing gets stuck in the menu bar, but, every launch of a VM causes something to crash (and disks to spin like mad as dumps are made).
