    Install error - 0x800f0845

Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.22635.3720) (KB5039312) update fails, the machine repairs itself and then restarts - but I am unable to apply the update.

Is this a Microsoft problem or an issue with Technical Preview 20?

Any thoughts on what to do next?

According to the original thread here, the problem has been solved by MS and the update installs.

FYI - Parallels support responded overnight to say that this KB issue appears to be a problem in Parallels which the dev team are looking at now.

It's not - it's a Microsoft problem. For those in the Insiders Beta forum - 22635.3785, KB5039319, works on Windows 11 VMs in Parallels. Just released today in the Windows Update channel. Installed and running fine!

No problems here. Clean, quick (boring) install.

Yes. Despite the Parallel's Support Team acknowledging an issue with Parallels, this latest update/release from Microsoft resolved the issue.

This has happened before with specific versions of Win11. Funny how it always seems to be solved when MS releases a new update.

This is what worked for me :
Please delete the contents of the Download folder in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.

Windows update was stuck in a loop, and would not download the updated (fixed) update package... Just after that I refreshed the windows update page, and it started downloading a newer update package.
It is still downloading, but I guess it'll install fine. I'll udate my comment if it fails again.
