data safe when sharing

Hi,

I had a question recently when I just started using parallel desktop switched from using bootcamp.

When I was working in bootcamp windows xp system, I was not allowed to write files in the Mac disc, but I could be able read files from it. I heart it was not safe to write files between mac and windows harddisk formmat (ntfs or fat32 and hsf+), reading is OK.

So I am just wondering how parallel handle this problem. I am really concern the safety of my data when I move data from shared folders to the guest of host system.
 
Can I put all my data or source files in mac disc and just employ the softwares in windows system to read and write the files in the sharing folders? or it's better to copy the files and data to the windows disc and do the modification?
