Does Increasing CPU's in PD 9 Decrease CPU Available to the OS X Host?

New Parallels user here (former Fusion user) .

When I configure PD 9 to access additional CPU's, will that inevitably reduce the CPU available to the OS X host or does the value I set simply constrain PD 9 to use up to the number of specified processors?

    Thanks in advance,

It will if running apps in the windows VM that are CPU intensive, for instance rendering or movie converting will slow you Mac down noticeably, but it will still function. In VMware you got a warning if you assign too many of your CPUs. They actually use a different method for CPU utililization that makes the more CPUs horrible.

When it comes to speed of the virtual machine VMware is faster, when it comes to graphics and still able to use your Mac, parallels kills them.
