Does it matter where I buy Parallels?

Hi

I'm visiting Canada next week and my aunt would be me a Macbook Air for my 21st birthday. Since I need to use Windows often I consider buying Parallels.

Now I was wondering, does it matter if my aunt buys it for me with the Air in Canada or do I have to buy it in Belgium in order to use it in Belgium or doesn't this matter?

Also, could you explain this, why is there such a price difference?

Support is global.

As for the price differences between EU and US I have no idea.
