Does Parallels Desktop use MacFuse?

Please clarify which Parallels Desktop version you use to get prompt answer. Also describe which issue is connected with MacFuse.

Have upgraded to version 4 of Parallels. The Question comes up with installation of other software. Missing Sync for Windows appears to use MacFuse. In trying to install it a warning comes up that I already have a newer version, but it does not specify a newer version of what. The first thing I thought of is that Parallels could be using MacFuse and may have installed a newer version that what Missing Sync is trying to install.
 
Yes, Parallels Desktop 4.0 uses Mac Fuse to mount its .hdd files to Mac desktop and perform action on files between Mac OS and Guest OS.
 
Is there a way to turn off the mounting of these disks to the desktop. I still want to mount the disks, I just don't want the icons to appear on the desktop.
 
Thanks. I did that and they are still appearing. I even shutdown and restarted. They show up every time.

I have unchecked everything in the Configure -> Shared Folders

Any advice?

He apparently is complaining about the Boot camp partition appearing on his desktop when Parallels isn't running? If that's the case that has nothing to do with Parallels only with OS X.

Actually, i am not. I have several computers on my network, including a NAS device, with several shares. Whenever I open a share, regardless of which device it comes from, that share appears on my desktop. I never had this issue before installing Parallels. I never had a previous version of Parallels installed. This is the first version I installed on this MAC.
 
FOUND IT!

It was not a problem with Parallels at all. It was a preference setting in Finder. Does Parallels change this by default? I never had that happen 'till I installed Parallels.
