don't get animations out of full screen mode

I'm running Build 4560 under OS X 10.4.10 and recently noticed that I no longer get an animation effect coming out of full screen mode. Changing the animation under Preferences doesn't fix the problem. Anyone else seeing this behavior?
 
Animation not working switching to Full Screen

I'm using the latest build (5582) and am experiencing this behavior as well, except I get no animation going into or out of full screen. The screen just flashes into the full screen mode. The other animations work okay. Prior to installing beta release 5580 (yesterday), this worked fine. The settings in preferences are set properly.

Any ideas?

I'm having this issue as well - with 3.0 5600.

Just want to bump this up to see if anyone has a solution.
