I run Dropbox on Windows 10 in Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac on a 15" Retina MacBook Pro (OS X 10.11.6). Lately, I've suddenly started having Dropbox notifications pop up all the time (e.g. whenever I save a file to Dropbox), even though I have previously changed the Dropbox settings to suppress such notifications. After much Googling and trial and error and pain, it suddenly dawned on me that the Dropbox notification settings now work backwards! If one selects the notification checkbox, no notification will occur...and vice versa. Too weird... This also happens in my Windows 7 virtual machine (but not in my native OS X). I sent a note to Dropbox technical support, but they weren't sympathetic (because it's a VM issue). I suppose this has something to do with Parallels.
