When writing code in Excel in my Windows 11 VM, a keystroke is sometimes duplicated. For example if I want to type in "Next", the result might be "Neext". The duplication of key strokes also happens using the delete key and that is very dangerous, because if I mean only to delete a particular line of code, the line above it may also be deleted without my noticing. I would blame the problem on my keyboard except that the problem never happens anywhere else.
I'm struggling with a similar issue. Haven't figured out what is the cause yet. I'm running on a M2 using Windows 11. It ran fine for a couple of months, some update seems to have corrupted something. The VM is now a lot slower as well. Playing with the Parallels keyboard settings did not help (yet).
I have the same problem. This is definitely a Parallels issue. Various updates have not improved the problem. It is quite annoying. Parallels doesn't seem to want to fix this - I have raised a query to their support team before. Also, when I first got the Macbook Pro M3 Max, everyone was saying how cold the Mac feels even when I was running a local AI LLM. However, after a couple of updates of Parallels and MacOS, it has become much warmer on touch when I use it. Although it hasn't become as hot as my older Intel i9 Macbook Pro when I run Parallels on that.
I should add, the duplicating of keys appear on both my old and new Macbooks when I am using a Windows software. So I conclude that it is definitely down to Parallels and not Mac.
Things I tried: - I set the Windows keyboard to the Parallels Keyboard. - I uninstalled Parallels Tools, rebooted, installed it again. - Turned on/off the Parallels Keyboard for Game optimizations. Not sure what to do about it. It all started to go wrong after a Windows Update that failed (blue screen after installing) somehow around May 2024(?).. Parallels keystrokes seem to occasionally get delayed, and then respond as if the key was pressed twice.
Back in November 2023 I reported a different problem (case ID #4348437) after I installed Windows 11 on this iMac that I bought shortly before that. I don't however remember when I first started seeing the duplicate characters.
