DXO 5.3 does not run

DXO 5.3 did run under Parallels 3.0 last week. Now I can just see the start of the opening screen and than the program dies. You are offered to send a crash report to Microsoft. It does not matter if I use one or two CPU´s. Reinstalling DXO does not help.
And the obvious solution is to run the program under OS X, but then what is the point of Parallels?
