J JussiN Bit poster Jan 11, 2012 #1 Hi, no matter what settings I use, I cannot use the cmd key as meta in Emacs. The weird thing is that things like M-b (one word back) work, but M-x does not. Instead I get C-x, as if Ctrl was pressed! Did anybody figure out a solution to this?

J JussiN Bit poster Jan 11, 2012 #2 Forgot to say that this happens (at least) in Debian/Ubuntu VMs running Emacs or XEmacs.
