I've installed Windows 98 SE on a Windows XP host machine. I used the drive image method. The installation almost finished, but during the completion phase when the system reboots, I get the following message:
While initializing device IOS:
Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer.
I then restart the guest OS, but it will only start in Safe mode. I then get a Win 98 message that my devices can't be set up in safe mode. If I try to start in normal mode so the installation can complete, I get the same error.
