External Hard Drive Issue

So when I plugged in my external hard drive, Parallels asked me something to the effect of 'Do you want to have Parallels automatically use this external device?' And I thought, sure, why not. But now my hard drive won't show up in OSX. It won't show up in Parallels, for that matter. How do I kill this defaulting and make it so Parallels doesn't take the harddrive, or try to?

It is connected as USB devices, and USB device can only be connected either to Mac or to Guest.
