Feature request: use shortcut to open file directly?

Seems like this would be relatively straightforward given the drag/drop support: I'd like to be able to drag a file onto the dock icon for an app (or onto a shortcut elsewhere, or using Quicksilver :) and have the Windows app open that file.

I looked at this a little bit and what I found is that applications within the VM are implemented in OS X as aliases and there are no associations for "applications" that are actually aliases. I suspect this is tempory - possibly corrected with stub files or other trickery.
