Files from guest open as read-only on host

Parallels 13.1.1 on Mac 10.11.6(El Capitan). When editing a file stored the guest (Win7), using MSWord on the host (Mac El Capitan), the file opens as "Read Only." How may I correct this so I can save the file without having to rename it each time I save it?

Hi DLAnderson,
Please make sure Parallels tools are updated, also check to make sure that you have your permissions in the word doc to allow for editing.

make sure you don't have editing restrictions checked
