    hi,
i have an old scanner that requires FireWire port,
and the scanner SW requires an old OSX,
also has a windows version, but is more complicated in 64-Bit Windows.
    anyway...
    Question:
¿does Parallel support FireWire passthorugh devices? like USB?
    in OSX or Windows VM.?

i have installed the Old OSX, its ok
i have installed the old Scanner Software, its ok.

    1. Click on Parallels Desktop icon (II) on the Mac menu bar > Preferences...
    2. Go to the Devices tab and mare sure that none of your Firewire®/Thunderbolt® devices are set to be connected to a virtual machine.
    3. To change where to connect a device to, double-click on it under Connect to section and change assignment to Your Mac.
    4. Close the preferences window and try using the device on the Mac side.

FireWire device is Not detected by Parallels 16,
but FW device is detected by OSX HSierra.
Only USB devices are detected by Parallels 16.
