I purchased an upgrade license as suggested by Parallels via email and it is rejecting the key, presumably because my previous version is 10. This is the second time this has happened to me and I am not about to purchase a full lic without being refunded for my upgrade (which again was recommended by Parallels). What I cannot get a refund for is my wasted time!
For the second time in Parallels history upgrading is impossible!
