Free Up Disk Space, Suspend vs Shut down, etc.

Hi, new user.

So what does Free Up Disk Space mean? I run Parrallels 10/Windows 8.1 for programming apps like VisualBasic, NotePadd++, etc.
Is that the same as Reclaim disk Space?



Also, when I am done at the end of the day, is it better to suspend/resume Windows, or actually shut down and restart Windows. I know shutting down/restarting takes a bit longer, but I don't know the difference. Does actual shutting down free up any allocated RAM I may want when back in OSX?

In Parallels Desktop 10 we introduce a Free Disk Space Wizard for managing your virtual machines data usage: just go to File -> Free Up Disk Space (when Parallels Desktop is in front): Please refer http://kb.parallels.com/122660
Suspend vs Shutdown:
Suspending Windows conveniently freezes all running Windows programs and settings in their current state.

Shutting down Windows in Parallels Desktop is just like shutting down Windows on a PC. All Windows programs close, giving you the opportunity to save your progress if necessary, and Windows stops running.

So Suspending is similar to Sleep for us Mac Heads?
