So I've had a Flight Sim PC with 6 gigs RAM, Quad AMD and Nvidia GTX240. It ran FS 2004 really well. FSX, not so much. Did all the Windows optimization I could, but still had to run FSX with medium high eye candy, eeking out about 14-20 fps. Never thought about running it on my Retina Macbook Pro, because my dedicated PC was struggling with it.

Well, last night, installed Windows 8, then FS 2004 just to test. And voila, it performed flawlessly.

Then, in a what-the-heck moment, installed FSX.

    Wow, wow, wow.

It was running smooth as silk, locked at 20fps. So much better than my PC ever could.
So I slowly added more eye candy, up to ultra high and high in most settings. Still, didn't break out a sweat.

What's more amazing? Never heard the fan go off, yet, even when flying a 747 through a nasty thunderstorm.

Just curious, did you have any issues trying to activate FSX?

I can't get it to activate...

    Thanks

Cool, FS fans! I used to design the flight model for FS many moons ago.
