Full Full Screen Please? (no intrusive dock bar and task bar)

It's very annoying to choose for fullscreen and still get dock bar/task bar to popup by accident when trying to use guest OS menus. Please develop an option for disabling this if possible while still using OS X full screen behavior of creating a particular desktop for the fullscreen app solely (nice for switching with mission control gestures).

Even if it's not possible to do this with the new OS X full screen, then at last some official way that solves this.

Hi,

If you don't want the dock or menu to show up in Mac OS X full screen then you need to turn on active screen corners and then set the screen corners to not have any associated action.
(From the menu select "Virtual Machine" > "Configure...". Then select "Options" from the toolbar and then "Full Screen" from the list on the left side of the window. Check "Active Screen Corners" and select "-" for each screen corner.)

Please let us know if the problem still persists.

Hi Javed, I'm sorry but this does not work, I've already tried this, truth is that I'm using this right now to avoid just the top menu most of the time. But the issue remains with the dock, it does nothing to prevent it from popping up. It's very frustrating. The only way to not get annoyed by the dock is by not making use of "OS X Full Screen", which is not a nice solution since having an stand alone Space for the Virtual Machine is valuable and the expected full screen behavior.

Thank you for the Report ID. I see that you are running Parallels Desktop 8 18354 build. I recommend you download and install the latest build (18483) and then try to go to full screen mode and reply to this thread if the dock still appears.

Hi,

Please quit Parallels Desktop, then open any mac application, for instance Safari Browser. Switch to full screen and let us know if you still see the dock.

I think I know your issue. Using Windows 7 as an example of the guest OS, you are saying that in full screen mode if you go down to the very bottom of the screen, the OSX dock will pop-up. I've done this numerous times. Working in Windows I've meant to select a different application in the task-bar only to have the dock pop up and accidentally launch an OSX application. If this is your issue did you ever find a solution?

I didn't find a solution, my way to get around it, at last I do this for Ubuntu, is to not use OS X native fullscreen and check active corners checkbox, but not enabling any of the corners. I then don't get annoyed by the OS X interface, but lose the native fullscreen functionality. Also, for Ubuntu I sadly need to disable smart mouse, which automatically captures the mouse pointer, because Ubuntu dock bar never unhides when it's enabled.

End of story, an experience full of quirks.
