Game "Icarus" keeps crashing

    See report ID 421203144. Running Icarus via Steam via Windows 11 via Parallels on an m1 macOS 13.2.1 results in inconsistently-spaced repeat crashes. While the lighting in particular has a disproportionate impact on frame rate, it is the randomly-occurring crashes (at least several times per session, but every 5-10 minutes this evening) that disable gameplay.

    As a possible solution, kindly follow the below steps:
    1. Shut down your virtual machine (Actions > Shut down).
    2. Go to the virtual machine configuration (see: https://kb.parallels.com/117287 ) and click "Hardware > Boot Order > Advanced Settings > Boot flags".
    3. Paste the following text in the "Boot flags" field:
    video.dx_profile=13
    4. Run the virtual machine and see if the issue persists.
    Kindly let us know if the above resolved the issue.

    If issue does persist, collect an additional technical report (right-click Parallels icon in Dock > Help > Send technical data > check "Attach screenshots..." > press Send Report) and provide us with the report's 9-digit ID in reply .

    421507777 is today's report ID with technical details attached. After the crash, suspending and unsuspending, I can still hear game music but the screen is now black. There are indicators (responsive mouse cursor, Windows splash logo in the corner, etc) that some parts are still working, but the game window itself is lost and cannot be regained without shutting down and restarting Windows. Pulling up the windows menu leaves artifacts behind on the otherwise dark screen.

    Will turn on boot flags and file another report with next crash.

    Crashed again after adding the requested boot flag. Could not get past "Windows 11 Suspending..." screen so eventually told Parallels to force quit. Reopened Parallels, at which point it attempted to resume, then informed me "To complete Parallels Desktop setup, please restart your Mac." This has been typical.

    The next crash (Suspending... Starting...) cycle provided report id 421511195. The boot flag video.dx_profile=13 did not fix the issue. Technical details should be included in both this and the report from earlier today.

    Report ID 421514566 (after removing boot flag). Game crashed, windows suspended, windows resumed, back to black screen with no visuals anymore even though audio is coming through. (Possibly related to a graphics crash triggered by their Unreal Engine 4 engine that fails to recover?)

    Report ID 421529102, Icarus game and Windows OS crashed cleanly - no Suspension business, window just disappeared, and when I relaunched it booted as normal without delay. Hosted this game (server = this computer) as opposed to the other crashes, where this computer was merely a client and not also the server.

    The last couple crash log posts are with the latest macOS 13.3.1 installed. (Virtual Windows 11 OS is also kept up to date).

    We have forwarded the technical data to our Development Team for analysis. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any ETA on response, be it a fix, a workaround or request for more information, but we'll let you know once we have an update from the Development Team regarding this issue.
