M Marketmethodology Bit poster Apr 6, 2011 #3 Only Fix For The Generic Host Process Srvhost.exe Crash I lived with this problem for three weeks. Everytime the Generic Host Process crashed my srvhost.exe all the audio died on my computer. This is the only fix that worked. Most of the Kaspersky Lab products will not work on this issue. You probably have a Rootkit virus and this is the only tool I have found that is able to locate it and remove it. http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses...?qid=208280684 Click on the TDSSKiller.exe link and run the program. Then follow the instructions on the Kaspersky website. Good luck!
