I just installed parallels on this macbook and when I do a shutdown or restart I get the same error while the VM is trying to put windows7 into standby. Im running parallels 6, windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6.7. I'm not a mac guy so please be gentle. Google and a search of this forum netted me others w/ the same issue but no resolution. I've got the settings as follows per others attempted resolution: On shutdown: Close window, On windows close: suspend. I've tried every imaginable combo here w/ the same results. If I manually close parallels all is well but shutdown just times out before windows is suspended by parallels. Any opinions or input would be very helpful

    Thanks
    Dave

    I think I know why...

I get this problem too guys, but I think it is just that the shutdown of the VM takes longer than the timeout allowed by OSX shutdown for apps to close, therefore the shutdown process thinks that the VM can't be stopped.

Works fine if you manually put the VM into standby then restart OSX

    An the official line is...?

Would be nice to hear what Parallels have to say about this issue.

Not a bug as such, just an annoyance...
