Hdd file can't be recognised

I had to re-install parallells but now when i try to start my VM using the old Hdd i get this message "File /Users/janitor/Documents/Parallels/Microsoft Windows XP 1/winxp.hdd seems to be not a valid Parallels virtual machine configuration file!" is there any way i can get my old Hdd file to work with my new install i have never had this problem before it has always excepted my old configuration and worked as normal, with all xp program and files intact.

Create new VM nd use existing HDD, instead of new

to add existing disk, please stop Virtual Machine and add new disk
