Help with Par7 installation...

I'm presently running Par7 on my MacBook Air and love it. So, I decide to put it on my iMac as well. Don't know if I could have used the "full" Par7 version that I bought. So, when I started getting almost daily offers for the FULL version along with around 9 other OS X programs for only $50, I finally bought the additional Par7 edition along with the DVD/CD hard copy option. About 2 days ago it arrived. Two "plain jane" disks labeled Replacement DVD.

No instructions as to how to install (at least as far as I can tell). A reader file did pop up saying if I need the serial number I could get it via an email. Since I don't have the serial number(s), I'm not sure if I should even do anything without them.

Nor do I know how I should go about installing Par7 on my iMac. Anyone else received these disks and if so, how do you install them. I'm presently running Win7 on my iMac via Bootcamp. Any help would be appreciated! I'm thinking maybe I should shut or reboot the computer with one of these disk in the DVD slot, but if that's so, which one.

I was under the impression that this offer came from Parallels, but now I'm wondering if I got scammed?
 
This story sounds like a scam unfortunately.
First of all - to run Parallels on 2 different Macs you need to buy 2 copies of Parallels Desktop - it is available from our website http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop.
The full version prise is 79,99$. Full version is what you need for your iMac to use Parallels software.
In case you buy Parallels with hard copy it comes together with full description and Parallels labels.

I fully realize that I need 2 copies of Parallels if I want to have the program on 2 different computers. This $50 offer seems legit to me. It appears to come from novadevelopment.com

After checking my email, I found the message that contains my serial number, but as I said at the start of this thread, no instructions on how to install this software (whether I should try a cold boot or do it from within OS X or Win7.)

I think I'm going to try to use my other full version and then enter the serial number that came with this other copy.

I thought Nova Development owned Parallels. I'm NOT trying to do an end run around avoiding paying for the program.

The only thing I'm worried about is messing up my iMac which is running Win7 fine via Bootcamp.
 
All's well that ends well...

Just completed the installation of Par7 and so far, it's looking great on my iMac. The problem I had was that I looked at these 2 "plain jane" installation disks from within Windows and didn't recognize the files as *.DMG. As it turned out, I didn't use the disk at all as I also had an option to DL the programs (Par7 and about 9 other questionable OS X programs). So I DL Par7, saw it was a DMG, went through the usual gig and now I'm up and running.

I'm surprised that no one else commented on this thread. I've been getting this offer for the FULL Par7 plus 9 other programs for about 2 months now. The main reason I didn't get it before now was that I liked my Win7 operation with Bootcamp, but after seeing how well it runs on my new MBA, I decide to put it on my iMac as well.

For anyone else that would be interested in the offer I got, it expired a few days back.
 
Windows 7 Performance Rating...

Re my message above, after all was done, I ran the Windows Performance rating in Win 7 and got lower scores that running only through Bootcamp. I didn't try to tweak Parallels for more RAM, etc.

First column is my iMac running Win7 in Bootcamp
Second column is my iMac running Win7 in Par7
Third column is my MBA running Win7 in Par7

Comparing the first two columns, it looks like I'll take a slight performance hit running in Par7, but in the real world (basic Excel) I probably won't even notice it.

iMac and MBA 4GB RAM
iMac 3.06Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
MBAS 1.8Ghz Intel i7
 
Boot camp is supposed to be faster - it is based on a real hardware as far as Parallels VM based on the virtual Hard Drive.
About Novadevelopmnet website - it is a reseller website, the key should be valid, and ic case you ever experience any problems with installation media - just go to Parallels web site and download dmg file from there. http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop
 
Does Par7 offer a straight cold both to Windows via Bootcamp. Previous Par7 versions that I had did offer this feature. I don't see it on any of my 2 new Par7 installations.
 
Parallels can run Widows from bootcamp without migraton - so that you can run one installation both from the bootcamp and Parallels - without reactivation.

Are you saying that I should run BootCamp again, leaving my present Par7/Win7 in place?
