High disk use version 15.1

I run windows 10 parallels 15.1.2 on MacBook Pro with Catalina 10.5.3

From time to time parallels utilizes almost 100%of the disk read capacity. When this happens the Mac is basically useless. This morning whatever parallels is doing has been running for almost 3 hours.

Is there a fix for this issue. Certainly this isn't by design.

any suggestions, including whether there is a competing product I should try would be appreciated. I make a living by the hour and can't continually be unable to use the pc.

Hi RobertM52. Please share the screenshot of your Activity Monitor where the disk usage shows as 100%.
