How can i migrate a Windows partition created with bootcamp from a external hard disk

Hello
I have the following problem:
I created a Windows partition created with bootcamp on my old MAC, which i no longer have, because of a mainboard failure.
I Kept the hard disk of the old MAC though and put it into a USB external hard disc case.
On my new Macbook i installed parallels 9 and tried to migrate my windowspatition from the external hard disk, however without success.
is there a way to solve this problem?
