How do I connect to the internet?

Jean, I suppose Network adapter is either corrupted, or somehow disabled.
Steps to perform:
Make sure in Device Manager make sure that you do not have Network Adapter disabled

I checked for an update to Parallels and ran that but then I got this message. I did what it said but still got this message.

I can see that in Parallels Tools center it is enabled, but I cannot see Device Manage screenshot
Also something is wrong with Parallels Desktop itself.
try to reinstall Parallels Desktop as described in http://kb.parallels.com/en/4790
Also if you do not have build 3224 (I see you have PD 2.5) version
Download it using http://www.parallels.com/en/download/file/en/GA/Parallels-Desktop-3224-Mac-en.dmg
Note, this is US version

I did the uninstall and installed the 3224 as instructed in the //kb.parallels.com/en/4790 site. Now when I bring up the Parallels Desktop the window is black. What is my next step? Thanks

When Parallels Desktop comes on it shows Windows loading. Then it goes to Parallels Desktop which is a black screen. I can't get past this point.
