How do I install "e-specs" from Interspec? (Third party download)

This is using Parallels 8 on a MacBookPro with OS X 6.8. All installation steps look good, no warnings at all. Installation starts but stops after about 30 seconds. I get an error message in a small black box which disappears almost instantly.
