How do I stop windows XP from loading automatically when starting parallels

How do I stop windows XP from loading automatically when starting parallels. I want to make some adjustments to settings but when I load parallels it loads XP fullscreen automatically and I can't get at the top menu bar to quit windows and return to parallels.

Hi @David_S._Ramsay, please start Parallels Desktop, press Ctrl+Cmd+F to minimize the full screen. Click on Two red lines from Mac menu bar, select Control center, Go to the virtual machine's Configuration -> Options -> Startup and Shutdown -> Custom -> Start Automatically -> choose "Never".
