How Do Parallel Upgrade Purchases & Installations Work?

I am still running on Parallels 16 (purchased in 2021).

Am I eligible for the Parallels upgrade pricing? And how do I verify that I am a previous customer/owner of a Parallel license? Is entitlement confirmed during the purchase process (and therefore I can install the new Parallels on a clean machine)? Or does the upgrade installer "detect" a previous copy, which would mean I wouldn't be able to install from a clean machine?

Or maybe I can use my Parallels 16 license key during the installation process?

Thanks in advance for any guidance and information on this. I want to upgrade, but I want to be sure I understand how the upgrade process works.

This thread answered my question. It looks like ANY previous version is eligible, and the entitlement is done during the activation of the new version using the previous licensing key (which means I can install from scratch on a new, clean machine). Nice!

Indeed provided you have an existing Permanent license key, you can purchase an upgrade key from our online store and upgrade to our latest released version.
