How to access Mac localhost from windows.

Hi there,

I've been reading about the localhost issues on this forum. I've tried quite a few of the suggestions but nothing has worked so far therefore, I'm sending out this post.

I have a MacBookPro running Lion

I've installed Parallel 9 and Installed Windows 7 on it.

On the Mac OS, I'ved installed Mongodb and it works fine.

The parallel 9 vm is configured to use Bridged (Default adapter) network.

The problem is, I cannot reach the localhost of my Macbook from the windows (guest OS).

I can ping my mac ip address from windows fine - but I cannot access Mongo on the 27017 port number


Any ideas or help will be much appreciated.

Hi Mike,

My macbook firewall is turned off - I checked it in system preferences - an it still doesn't connect from win7 to mac.
