How to COMPLETELY reinstall Parallels & Windows

Bit poster
  1. Old HD running OSX 10.10.4 crashed
  2. New HD installed and running OSX 10.10.4 with very few apps installed
  3. Old system had Parallels 10 running Windows 7.
  4. Time Machine was Backing up as prescribed in http://kb.parallels.com/en/8827
How do I get (Parallels & Windows) back to where I was before the crash?

Hi Maria,
OK..from the beginning.... trying to upgrade second machine to Win10. It is a MacBook Pro OSX 10.10.4, Parallels 10, and Win 7.
1st attempt: success ... for a few days .... then lost functionality of START button and performance was atrociously slow. Reverted back to Win7.
2nd attempt:
Upgrade started fine... then upgrade said it need 9gigs more disk space so I added a 32gig USB thumb drive. Then things went bad. Started getting "Unable to connect to Drive 0" error on reboot.
I searched Knowledge Base for help. Found "Unable to connect to Drive 1". Tried to follow those directions but situation/directions didn't quite match. For instance told to search for a string and delete it but there were 3 strings that met the criteria...???
That is where I am now.

I feel like best option would be to start from scratch but I am away from home and won't be near original install DVD's for months. I have an iMac which can cover the interim but would like to at least get minimum functionality back on MacBook Pro.
Soooooo. Figured if I could reinstall Parallels & VM from TIME MACHINE I would be OK. Back at Win7 which was doing just fine.
Is that enough to help get me pointed in the right direction?

OK...have a new copy of Parallels Desktop installed looks good :) BUT when trying to open the .pvm I get ....
Unable to connect to Hard Disk 0
A file or device required for the operation of Hard Disk 0 does not exist or is used by another process, or you have no permission to access it. The virtual machine will continue running, but the device will be disconnected.​
Not sure what do now....
Oh... discovered/remembered ... I had only been backing up Parallels as directed in http://kb.parallels.com/en/8827 for a few days. I didn't realize that TIME MACHINE wasn't backing up the .pvm prior to that. :-( I am using the oldest copy of the .pvm that I have.
Is there anything I can do to rectify the "Unable to connect to Hard Disk 0" problem?
In the Forum I have seen "restored .pvm to new build of macbook" but that didn't seem to lead any where.... other than the #4 entry of that thread.

Yippee!!! Got to where I wanted to go via another route. http://kb.parallels.com/114118 applies. I used the .pvm from my iMac to get the MacBook Pro running. Takes a bit of time to move 60 gig .pvm files around but otherwise painless.
