I'm using Parallels 13.2 Mac Pro Edition to run Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro. Acronis (Windows) backs up the Windows installation to a NAS, which gives me a way to retrieve files and restore the Windows install of the VM.
I'd like to back up the .pvm file so that, in the event of a catastrophic failure of my Mac, I can restore the .pvm file. Also, I'd like to be able to back up the PVM file to the NAS with the ability to do a combination of full and incremental backups.
What software packages are available on the Mac what would support that? Retrospect is available but I'm wondering if there are other options.
A valid question is - is that level of redundancy necessary? My thinking is that, if I've got a valid backup of the content of the VM from Acronis, would that allow me to just create a new VM and restore everything from the Acronis backup?
