How to downgrade version 8 to version 7

The "Known Issues" in the release notes for Parallels Desktop 8 specifically say:
"Some kernel components may not update automatically when Parallels Desktop 8 is downgraded to Parallels Desktop 7."

Well, I'd like to try out Parallels 8. But I'm not going to do that unless I know I can downgrade back to 7 (which I own) if I decide not to buy 8.

How can I safely downgrade to 7 if I don't think 8 is worth the money?
